The objectives of AIM were: to invite artistic responses to existing monuments and heritage sites; in this way re-presenting their original meanings as artistic findings. To invite artistic responses to create new monuments; with contrasting or affiliated practices in relation to local cultural ideas. To gather artists with different professional disciplines so as to gain awareness of each other's specialised practices
16 artists responded to the AIM project at 3 sites including: Raffles Landing Site (22 July 2000), The Merlion Park (12 August 2000) and Hong Lim Park (1 September 2000)
