Hi everyone,
those of you who came, thanx. hope you had at least a little bit of fun and have brought back some of the good old love for nature.
those who didn't, couldn't and/or wouldn't, it's probably to your consolation that it was only ok, and not terribly exciting or fruitful. for me at least. anyway, what happened was Julie and i got to the island at about 10.30, then we went to the muslim food shack to have breakfast. then the KYTV crew came with the 3 glamorous clown paintings and joined us, then Rainer did. and by the time, we all got to Booth 14, it was 11.15? then we set up and hung around.
Rainer was the earliest to arrive, he actually got to Ubin at 9 (German punctuality) to set up the cans made by his students! while we all just took it quite easy lah...
so, around 12.30? Kai came around (surprise!) and had his wanton mee while we were getting restless in the heat, amidst all the greenlovers. (the VSA stall next to us was making brisk business with their bookmarks customised with your-name-in-braille). sometime later Kai put on white powder, red wig, blue wig, stripped down to an interesting pair of grey briefs and laid down with a huge rusty anchor he borrowed.
then at around 2, it started to pour. it was then when FeeLowSoFee began. the poor guys were braving the storm and the mini-compo got soaked. but nonetheless, it was a good performance, though it would have been better with music and if it was a longer. then when they almost ended, Kai got up and began his performance, dragging the anchor and doing some strange things i couldn't see coz too many people were in the way. then Julie joined in at the end with her performance with the wooden box of strings and weights and getting the audience to hold on to the strings, uniting everyone, while Kai played the drums.
the performance session was long and the audience distracted, uncertain as to how to react and can't be bothered, as usual. and throughout the boring session of sitting at the booth, we only sold $22 of stuff, and all to our own people.
well, whatever. it was ok, i guess. we all left at about 3.
see you all again soon. and, sorry i didn't make it for the sushi party.
x, Jen.
